Team — TAK Server

Tactical GPS includes a built-in TAK client: it connects to a TAK server over TLS, shares your position, shows your team's, and exchanges markers and chat — a lightweight way to get an iPhone onto the network.

enrollment

Open Settings → Team → TAK Server and enroll. Scan the server's ATAK or iTAK QR code, or enter the details manually. The app enrolls with your username and password to obtain its own client certificate.

QR enrollment

Point the camera at the QR code your server admin gives you — host, ports and credentials fill themselves in. Works out of the box with OpenTAKServer.

Manual enrollment

Enter the host, enrollment port (typically 8446), stream port (typically 8089), username and password.

Running your own server? Our field-notes article TAK on iPhone: OpenTAKServer setup walks through standing up OpenTAKServer and enrolling this app against it.

on the network

Position sharing

While connected, your position streams to the server and teammates appear on your map with their callsigns.

Send pins

Any pin can be sent to the team as a CoT marker — open the pin and choose Send via TAK.

Team chat

Text chat with the team, right from the app.
